ones country?"
By patriot I mean devotion rooted in a historical perspective of
both the inspirational intent of our founding fathers and the
nationalistic fervor that brought about the consequences of
witch-burning, Japanese internment, lynchings, McCarthyism, and
a maryad of other extremist based injustices. By patriot I mean
devotion that does not swallow simplistic binary answers that
claim altruism while striving for a paradigm outside of the
Constitution of the United States of America.
"I support the administration because we are at war with Islamic
fascist that have been killing United States citizens since
Oct 23 1983."
The answer to Islamic Fascism is not Christian Fascism.

religion you are is not the consideration - being American is the

To deny that this administration is using Christian "code" to
manipulate the masses is shortsighted and dismissive of the partisan
attempt to harness those who would gladly annihilate your freedoms
in order to dictate their dogma.

He bombed a soverign nation without credible evidence.
He shouted out "Bring it on!" when our troops were in harms way.
He has not held Rumsfeld accountable for Abu Grab.
He has held captives in Gitmo without trial for over 5 years.
He has sought to prevent the reporting of our fallen soldiers.
He has been complacent in the inadequate reporting and accounting
of Iraqi dead.
He has continually and perpetually supported talking points that
label honest American citizen's concern as unpatriotic.
He and his administration have claimed that we have not suffered
from another terrorist attack when our soldiers have been attacked
persistently since they claimed "Mission Accomplished."
And how compassionate is it to claim that it is our goal to bring
terrorist attacks to Iraq.
He has consistently been a dispassionate, thoughtless, and crass
initiate of this war; and even if his intentions are to fight
terrorism, he has no conception of the danger born of his creation
of new miscreants.
"Name a policy that this Administration has put forth that is not
consistent with being a 'Uniter, not a Divider?'"
His dismissive tone with the United Nations during his push for
war with Iraq.
His claim that their work was irrelevant.

This administration cannot even keep their base on the same page
without the gimmickry of polarizing hot-button issues.

help remove the Taliban from Afghanistan because of 9-11,

I am insulted by this divisive remark and would hail your lack
of imagination as the hallmark of a one-dimensional, talking-point
lapping citizenry that lacks the moral tenacity to separate
fictional rhetoric from sarcastic innuendo. Not only do I remember
that day, but I am aware of the Taliban regaining strength due to
our troops being diverted to a hell-hole created by this
administration. Had we been single minded in our objective, not
only would the world still be at our side as moral allies, but
we would have been in a far more credible position as TRUE
uniters in the complex negotiations of the Middle East.
"We are the liberators of Iraq. Today Iraq has an independently
elected government. The army and police are getting trained,
stronger and more capable. These are the fact not rhetoric.

I'm from the planet that sees the glairing inconsistency between
being a liberator and pursuing a "terrorist-magnet" over there
policy.

thought in 1998 that Iraq had WMD's. That is a fact."
It is also a fact that in 2003, when we bombed them, they did not.
"Saddam Hussein was supporting terrorism. He was paying suicide
bombers families $20.000. That is a fact. Fighting against
terrorism is not squandering our brave patriots, who have all
volunteered to protect your freedom."
I would like to see your sources for this claim. From my
perspective, fighting for our freedom means to fight for the
Constitution, and in keeping with the Constitution we must honor
the parimyd of power, not seed to circumvent it; we must respect
freedom of speech, not seek to silence it; we must uphold the rule
of law, not burrow beneath it.
"George Bush said 'either you are with us in the war on terrorism

This reflects the Bush policy on everything. He uses terrorism
as a treat to those who dissent--"Everything changed after 9/ll"
--however this administration is unwilling to admit that there
are other ways to secure our citizens. They have extended our
military when it was not necessary. The devil you know is
better than the devil you do not, and Hussein was complying
with the international community which has been born out by
the FACT that there were no weapons of mass destruction.
MISLEADING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, THE HOUSE, AND THE SENATE IS
LYING. When your source providing evidence to the American
people is named "Curve-ball" and you are advised by top CIA
officials that this evidence is suspect, but you choose
to go with it for it is the best you have, you are in fact
lying. In addition, this weak evidence was so important to
this administration that they sought to destroy anyone who
would publicly challenge their claim--for they knew that they
had nothing else to back it up. You may chose to swallow a
steady diet of partisan talking-points, but my message is that
a complacent, unquestioning citizenry will lose the freedoms you
claim our soldiers are fighting for in Iraq. They will lose them
by handing them over to a power-hungry administration that does
not want to be held accountable by Congress, the press, or the
Supreme Court. Their evidence does not stand on its own--they
must manipulate, mislead, and lie there way into a war that we as
a nation are paying dearly for.
"Once again I wonder what planet you live on. The United States
has never had the good will of the world. No matter how much aid
we give the response has been a hearty "go home yankee" for as
long as I can remember."
Then you do not remember the solidarity that the United States
experienced after 9/11. Certainly there were and always will be
enemies of our country; however the vast majority of the world
was committed to support our country in its "true" fight against
terrorism. That support began to wane when it was clear
that Bush wanted to settle an old score under the guise of
"fighting terrorism." The FACT is that the world was far more
aware of the potential consequences of this flagrant arrogance.
You see want you want to see. I believe that we will
have to agree to disagree.

Turn on the TV to any cable news network. He has led the
preemptive doctrine and now hot-headed leaders around the
world want to "show" America. The President of the United
States is not only a world leader, but an example. He was
the one who said "BRING IT ON!!" Our own citizens are now
in danger of losing their lives due to Israeli missiles.
He has provided the world with a tenor of dismissivness
and created a tinderbox of animosity that has created
more hatred and emboldened a bloody hubris among savage
men of war.
True, we were attacked on 9/11 and I believe the response
in Afghanistan was appropriate; however why should our
victimization mean that the women in Iraq should not be
able to go to market, drive to a park, play outside with
their children. Why?

to the number of people that die in their bath tub in one
year."
This is a pathetic and disgusting statement. You would feel
differently if we were seeing cars blowing up in our
neighborhoods.

their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that
among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
You defeat yourself with your own short-sighted argument.
You are defending an administration that has denied these
rights to innocent individuals. There is no life when you
are dead, there is no liberty when car bombs are blowing up
everywhere, there is no pursuit of happiness when there
is death all around you. The Constitution is to be defended
in our country, not used as a club with which
to beat other nations into submission.
I am weary of your dripping sarcasim. I will address
the rest of your blind pundentry tomorrow.
